Since 1933, people have seen a strange creature in the Loch Ness in Scotland. It is a cryptic and lake monster known as the „Loch Ness Monster“ or simply „Nessie“ and has been photographed and videotaped several times, but many times they turn out to be hoaxes. However, hundreds of people have sighted the creature throughout the years, leaving many to believe that Nessie does exist.
Many expeditions have take place since 1933 in order to find the creature and determine what it actually is. The most famous photograph of the monster, the Surgeon's Photograph, that was taken in 1934 was surprisingly later proven in 1975 to have been faked.
There are many theories surrounding the Loch Ness Monster legend. One enduring idea is that it is a relic from the dinosaur age, a plesiosaur, however without a viable population it seems unlikely that such a creature could exist there. Another enduring theory is that the monster doesn't exist and that sightings of the creature can simply be put down to people looking too hard for something that isn't there and interpreting everything from wakes in the water to floating logs as evidence of the beast.
Known as the Bermuda Triangle, this legendary expanse of ocean can be found between the points of Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. Pilots often tell of their instruments going haywire and numerous ships have been lost at sea. With explanations ranging from gas bubbles to aliens, no one is sure what is behind the strange phenomena.
Some people attribute the mysterious disappearances in the region to everything from paranormal energies to extraterrestrial abduction. More recently however it has been suggested that the reputation of the area itself is more to blame for the mystery than any genuine phenomenon; that over-reporting and sensationalist headlines have emphasised too greatly any given disappearance there and that the Bremuda Traingle is actually no more dangerous than any other part of the Atlantic.
Stonehenge is a giant stone monument on the Salisbury Plain in England. It is a mystery because no one knows who built it or why they built it. It is a standing Bronze Age megalith monument in a circular setting. Every stone at Stonehenge weighs over fifty tons. Most people attribute the building of Stonehenge to the Druids, the Druids were a Polytheistic people who made their yearly calendar on the solar, lunar, and vegetative cycles. There are many theories about the ways it was used. Some people say it was a hospital, while other people declare it to be a memorial for lost soldiers. Other opinions include a possible use as a calendar that helped predict the seasons. Some say it could have been an altar for worshipping gods or goddesses and asking for fertility of the earth to grow their crops.
